But they're "German" motors :;):

Yeah, somethings not right with the specs at 120V. Forget what I posted earlier, can't make any comparisons using incorrect data.
Cheers

John,

Thanks for the reply. Boy will I look stupid if these motors don't blow any harder than a good fart!

There is a post on Domel Vs Ametek in Air Movers

I did a spreadsheet
It looks like the good Domels are single stage and are better than the 2 stage Ameteks

I do not recall anybody here giving any failure feedback 1-5years after-the-fact of building a bench using the Surplus Center motors?

Yes using the PTS plans you can replace motors as required if you make the right side panel removable. Otto, you will see this once your plans arrive. You can also see this in the pics of my bench build over in the PTS Plans forum area. I would replace them in sets of two as it makes it easier to get to the rear motors in my design.

Same would go for the HF router control. Mount it so it can be easily replaced if need be. Again I have heard of no failures with that unit in any applications on the net. This would include it's intended use as a speed control for electrical hand tools. I read all I could find on the net on various forums about it's use before I spec'd it with my plans.

I would expect the HF router control itself to be extremely reliable, but if a motor fails violently, as most do, it will almost certainly kill the associated speed controller.

Be prepared, by making both motors and speed controllers easy to get at, and a simple straightforward job to replace.
