I'm new to all this a friend of mine just got his flowbench built and I've been helping him with things and we're getting ready to bore and port a gm tbi fuel injection unit and what we're wandering is what's the best way to flow test this unit to see how much airflow we have gained from our efforts? Do we need a tall adapter, or one just tall enough to bolt to the tbi or what? Please help cause this is a little bit confusing since I'm new to it.

Since the TBI unit itself (bore, throttle plate, injector/sensor protrusions) is the restriction you are trying to measure and or modify it will need some thought, as this unit in the WFO mode will flow a lot of air and your bench may not support this at a high depression (28

Thank's for the info the flow bench i have access to is a PTS design with 8 motors in it. so I don't belive that the bench would be a problem. So i just esentualy need to build a baseplate to bolt to the bench and start testing?

If I was doing it I would just make a flat plate to bolt the TBI to. Make the hole in the flat plate larger that the size of your tbi opening and the plate big enough to cover and seal the hole in the top of you bench.

I don't think you need to get too complicated.
