Discussion on general flowbench design

These are the valves and the block offs for the motors. It seems tight on the exhaust side but it pushes the air. One turn of the throttle cable equals about .075 valve movement. Pics are at

Dave,

Since the valves swing out, it looks like you have the valves mounted on the exhaust side of the motors rather than on the intake side.

It also looks like your motors are mounted on the opposite side of the divider board than I mounted mine.

Facing the bench...my motors are on the left side of the divider board. Exhaust is the left handle....intake the right handle....

My question would be... with the PVC covering the motor, is the contained flowpath actually helping to cool the motor or is it trapping heat...?

Don't know larry about the heat I havn't run the thing long enough to find out.

You are right the motors are intake left and exhaust right facing from the front. The cover is on the EX side so that when I use either side it will be shut by pressure or pulled from vacuum.

Dave,

It looks like you put a considerable amount of thought into the whole bench...Nice Job!....keep us posted on how those valves work out...Really Good Idea...So simple!

I'm thinking...ok..PVC on the other side...flip the valve around...little modification....hmmmmm
