Have any of you guys made a swirl meter? I have been thinking about building one, but havent decided how to do it yet. Here are some thoughts to ponder... Very small DC motor with a 4 blade "prop" with no pitch. The whole thing should be adjustable up and down(havent figured this out yet) in say...1/4" increments. Any Ideas from you guys?

Looks great, exactly what I'm talking about.
It looks like you cut each prop blade to size and then put a slot 1/2 way thru each one, to lock them together and then used a slitting saw to cut two slots, 90-degrees apart on the main hub and pushed it all together?
How does it work? and do you have any thoughts on the raising and lowering?
I was thinking a 3/8" dia. cold rolled with radiused grooves in 1/4" increments and then have a ball detent in the base.
