Dyno RPM's

Postby Dave W » Tue Dec 19, 2006 9:03 pm

Dave I got the L&S demo and was listening to the dyno runs on HP TV and it sounds like the rpm's from 3500 to peak are stepped. Is this the automatic flow control or no experience running a dyno. Your video did not sound like this. Thanks

In my video I'm running a sweep test where the engine is never held at any rpm. In the software you can specify if you want to run a sweep test and at what rate, rpm/sec. You can do a step test like they are doing on the HP TV video where you hold the engine for a few seconds at each rpm step that you choose. With the servo load valve you can do either style of testing.

A step test generates somewhat higher numbers because the engine is not working against it's own inertia but I like a sweep test better because it gets data from more points in the rpm band, I report every 100 rpm on my reports.
