accelerationdyno

Postby Sandra » Tue Oct 06, 2009 1:59 pm

Hi

I am working on an accelerationdyno right now but I am not sure about the calculation of HP and Nm. The calculations I am using goes like this:

Acceleration= ((The difference between 2 measurements of RPM/time between the measurements) * pi^2)/60

Nm= acceleration*the calculated moment of inertia on the rollers

Watt= RPM*Nm/5252

HP= Watt * 1,36

I think don't think I am getting the right values, they seem to be too low. Have I done something wrong in the calculations?

Hi Sandra,

your power conversion is out at the bottom, 1kW=1.34hp or 1hp=.75kW

Cheers,
