Update on FlowSoft and the PTS-DM
Bruce and I have had a couple of extensive conversations about the DM, flow bench functionality and motor sizing. With the Surplus Center motors gone and the next best motor out there at 3 to 4 times it cost the motors are now becoming even a bigger factor in bench sizing. At the current time FlowSoft is configured to function under a 16" Delta P, But could go down as far as 8 or so depending on the sensors available or if someone was doing a small bench say 2 motors.

Can it be usable for people using very low deltap's on small benches? Like 10" test pressure with 2.5" deltap across the orifice...
Other thing that may be useful... if you have the ability to input either valve o.d or seat i.d/angle with lift you could show the discharge coefficient on the fly, which after all is what we're really interested in
Output to an excel compatible file I like. Can it output for multiple tests at a time e.g. if I test a port at 10" test pressure then 15", 20", 25", etc. I can use this to generate a 3d contour map of the port e.g. cd vs lift vs pressure ratio. This can be used as input into an engine simulation or used to spot problems with the port.

Clayton,
As of lately only bug fixes and minor os adjustments, gearing up to begin the next phase of enhancements to FlowSoft Basic. Is there anything in particular you are looking for?

Thanks Rick
No I dont have any at the moment. Looking at purchasing Bruce's DM, plans and plates in the near future and was wondering if the software had upgrades / additions.
What sort of enhancements were you thinking of ??
cheers

We've talked about it but been to busy with other things that no actual testing has been done on this yet to see what really needs to be done.

John I am not sure what you are asking? do you mean use a 13" plate with the 16" sensor? I am trying to put my head around this.
Rick
Did you get my PM about casting goo?
