Bruce these are very good pictures, Somthing like this is what I was thinking of building. Some similar designs I've seen use a plenum, what your take on that? How many ranges do you use?

Sweet looking bench! Excellent crafstmanship. I like your web site and the sound of your Dodge engine on the dyno brought back memories.

I'm torn myself on building a pitot or orifice bench, eagerly awaiting how your project is coming along.

any updates?

When I get a 240 plug wired into the garage I can do the electrical checkout. The bench wiring is done. I plan to blow out all piping before I epoxy the pitot tubes in. I still have to build a cylinder head fixture of some sort. I'm going to send the FP-1 back for the PS3 (dedicated velocity probe).

If you haven't started on a bench I'd recommend looking at the Ford "bench" thread

I still think a setup seperating the elements (blower/blower box, flow element(s), cylinder head box) instead of cramming them in a bench is a great idea. The cylinder head box can be made for wet flow from the start, it might even be possible to design filtering in it so you could port intake runners with the setup running.

It's possible combine the three elements (blower/blower box, flow element(s), cylinder head box) into a long low bench instead of a narrow upright one. One reason I like the idea of seperating the elements is the possibility of putting the blower in a different room so that the only noise you hear when flow testing is the airflow. This is where a regenerative blower would be so much better than vacuum motors especially in a bench where all three elements are combined.

there was a jkm 400 on ebay yesterday I was bidding on... #### thing went for $1350! I missed it by $25... so pissed.

maybe I will just buy your bench, then you can build the ford style. PM me a price/location if you're serious.

I'm using Flow Performance electronics but want to send it back for the real time velocity option.

I flowed a few orifice plates I got from Bruce and one that came with the FP-1.

With four motors running in suction mode;
